A few thoughts. The first time you miss a rung a fall down the loft will become a bad thing. I ‘m not sure what your cooling system is but consider a screened AZ room outside to sleep in.
I wish you luck with collecting water. The monsoons are coming soon and our local paper says they will be dry.
I would recommend shade screen to help your plants from being sucked dry. Maybe a greenhouse of sorts with shade cloth would be better.
I wonder about the compost toilet meeting codes. The grey water setup also. I have no problem with them but think the officials would.
