Primitive Technology Blog – Tiled Roof Hut

“I built this tiled roof hut in the bush using only primitive tools and materials. The tools I used have been made in my previous videos. It should be pointed out that I do not live in the wild and that this is just a hobby. It should be obvious to most that this is not a survival shelter but an experiment in primitive building technology.”

“Damming a creek and piping water would be good. I found a good way (to make clay pipe) – mold clay around a log dusted with wood ash. When it drys, tap it a bit and it slides off in one piece- a complete pipe. You can taper the log so the narrow end of pipe fits into the wide end of the next.”

“With all the garbage on TV why not give this guy a show? I’d watch the $#!% out of it.”

“This is impressive!!! why stop at this one hut? You should just build a whole new civilization from scratch :D”

“He could build some more (huts), for sale. Then he could build a bank, so People wiht no Money could buy the houses. Then he could sell those mortages on the stock-Exchange, then the borrowers could buy those Mortgages as pension-funds.. Then he could manipulate these derivetive markets, and get more People to borrow.. Eventually he could rule the world.. Nah.. That would probably not work in the real world…”

  1. We could issue our own credit in our own names and exchange it with each other, we would be free of any centralised control. Blockchain technology provides a way to do that.

  2. What I find most interesting about this video is the way the presenter made clay tiles for the roof of his structure, baking them in a large rocket stove/kiln.
