An article at 929nin.com wonders what this old abandoned wood and stone building near Petoskey, Michigan was used for.
It looks like it could have been a souvenir shop with Indian-made items, rubber snakes, cedarwood trinkets, candy, gag gifts, etc. Or maybe it was a simple little restaurant with burgers, fries, pop or perhaps a convenience store.
Another guess is a gas station; it is right at a junction, which is a perfect place for a fuel stop…NOT a private residence. What I notice about the structure is how much more durable the stone is compared to the wooden parts, which are obviously caving in, whereas the stone walls are still standing proudly.
