Beat the Heat with Water Misters — 3 Comments

  1. Misters work great, when they work. Trouble is that usually where they would work the best (desert areas) are also the same areas with extremely hard water. Water deposits/minerals clog the small passages on the misters and they stop working. Also a filter system is needed to prevent sand and other particle from doing the same.

    • That’s right. At a previous home our garden drip irrigation system clogged up constantly and eventually we gave up using it. The water there was very hard. Maybe test your water first and start with one mister to see if it works.

  2. You could put a few misters at the jobsite for people to cool off. Misters work best in hot, dry climates where evaporation is greatest.
