The folks at Canadian Dirtbags told me about their Prairie Castle domes. I wrote back and suggested a full blown desert fort made with domes. I tried to describe to them the image in my mind and was sure something like this would pop up in Google. But after a fairly lengthy search I never found what I was imagining. Maybe it’s time to design a desert dome fort??? (It’s already in the works.) Anyway, here are some impressive desert forts that will have to do in the meantime.

In case you’re wondering why all the talk about forts and castles, read back through some previous posts. Earthbags can last hundreds of years since it’s nearly identical to rammed earth. They could last even longer if made with geopolymer (perhaps thousands of years like the pyramids, that evidence points towards geopolymer construction). And earthbags are definitely faster to build with than stone.
