Take a fly-through tour of the Enviro Dome, one of my most popular earthbag plans. Please note, not every detail is shown. The loft vegas (wood poles) and wood stove, for instance, have been omitted for simplicity. But you still good a good sense of what the home looks like. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video and leave some comments.
Owen, Is the kitchen island/counter of typical wood millwork construction?
Good job on the rendering.
Thanks. You could build the kitchen counters out of stone, concrete, wood (preferably hardwood such as maple) or metal. I most often work with wood, but I made a concrete counter for my outdoor kitchen and it turned out great. Take a look: http://earthbagbuilding.wordpress.com/2010/04/02/all-in-one-outdoor-oven-stove-grill-smoker/ The whole countertop (about 14 lineal feet or so) cost me around $20. I used 100% salvaged materials for forms. They should last a lifetime.
