Update on Kerry’s roundhouse in Turkey that withstood an earthquake. The interior is looking real nice.

“It took us just 6 weeks to get the entire house up. But over two months to plaster it! Earth plasters are an acquired skill and you’ll need to practice a fair bit to get the mix right. The trouble is there is no list of definitive ingredients, and it all depends on your mud. We had a lot of problems with cracking (too much clay in the mix). In the end we combined some lime with the mud.”

Here’s photographer Melissa Maple’s take on the interior.
