This just in from Ziggy at the Year of Mud website, a premier source for information on cob. There are tons of uses for cob, so this might be something you’re interested in. Text below is from Ziggy.
“I wanted to write to let you know that I recently published a book through Blurb.com, based on the adventures of building my first cob house, and largely based on the style of my website, The Year of Mud. Lots of images (60+ color photos), cob building lessons and recipes, a detailed report of how I built my house, and more are included.
It’s available here.
I wrote up more information about it here, too.”
I am starting a small community with the plan to become self sufficent by jan 2012. I will probably use the cob housing or earth bags as a cheap hosting material.

I would like to do a link exchange with you email me
Please keep us posted of your project if you build with earthbags. Also realize that earthbag building takes about 1/10th the time and effort as cob. For me, I prefer to use cob for certain small elements in a home, not the entire structure.
