I have just finished another piece of wood sculpture (see this post, or this one, or this one for some of my other works). This one is titled The Tipping Point and shows our Earth home precariously balanced on the tip of one finger. It is a metaphor for how the future of our species and our home are now at a crucial point in time, where we have the choice to try to keep it all in balance or let it tip into a declining spiral of loss of species and habitat, including our own.
The sculpted arm is life-sized and the whole piece stands about 2 1/2 feet high. The arm is carved from one piece of Arizona Cyprus and the globe is composed of oak burls.
The hours longer and seasons quicker,
This piece is awesome I’m going to try to forward to OAN
News Station “Tipping Point” .
This is a beautiful piece, Kelly. Thank you for keeping us ‘on point’ with your lovely emails.
Nice! A poignant and pointed message!
