The previous blog post about Pacific Style architecture brought up the topic of garden walls with flowing water, so I did a quick search on the Internet for a few examples. These samples may be a little over the top, but keep in mind they don’t have to be large and complicated. You can create a small, quiet spot and achieve almost the same effect for very little money. For more pics, search Google Images for flower gardens, rock gardens, garden pools, garden ponds pictures, garden fountains, garden walls, etc.

Truly stunning gardens complete with hard scape elements like wall water fountains do not fall into place overnight. Exceptional designs require a lot of thought and planning while taking into account the size and shape of the area you are going to design. Design ideas often begin with planning around natural elements like trees or your plan may involve the removal of some trees.
How do you suggest building a property perimeter wall of 425 metres with earthbags. It’s in the humid and heavy rain climate of Thailand. I’m thinking 2 to 2.5 metre tall and it’s in a rual location.
I would use low-fired brick: http://earthbagbuilding.wordpress.com/2010/11/22/low-fired-brick/
There are various ways to build walls with these bricks. The easiest and most common way is to set the brick between concrete posts. The larger bricks take less mortar and are faster to build with. Another way to save is not plastering the bricks. I think the bricks make an attractive pattern.
