My wife and I are moving to Missourri with plans on building something similar to this. will the long straight back wall support the weight of the earth berm or would you need to shore it up from the inside?
Earthbags are much faster than tires. Both will work. Try a sample of both before building something. There is a limit on straight walls. It depends on the length, height, building method, amount of soil, type of soil, etc. Talk to a local engineer to be sure it’s safe. And yes, it can be braced from the inside.
I recommend using earthbags instead of rammed tires, but this home looks so nice that I wanted to show it.

Thanks for a great site!
