Square One Villages

From Gail, a long time reader: They are having a fundraiser for the final monies to complete the Village for “working poor” and have some folks who are matching funds for those donated. Would you be willing to post this, so that the folks who read NBB.com can see this great village movement as it moves forward, and perhaps pay it forward if they can.

Square One Village is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the development of tiny home villages for people in need of housing. The program could expand to other areas. For instance, voters in Albuquerque, New Mexico recently approved a $2 million bond measure to build two tiny house Villages.

  1. Thank you for sharing about Square One Villages, Owen. These folks definitely are showing the balancing of our Heart and Mind, in how we live on Earth.

I put the two words Working Poor in quotes because I feel that so many folks can benefit from this Village Life, even if they cannot work. such as disabled or elder or whatever our life challenges may be.

I feel that this model of cooperation and compassion is great for many of us.

These villages are Self-Governing, rather than being managed or run by others who don’t live there. AND I feel that this is a HUGE step forward for how we care for ourselves now and as we move forward on our adventures.

THANK YOU to all who help make these dreams come true. Thank You to all who share these dreams for more folks to thrive.

AND A BIG THANK YOU TO THE FOLKS WHO HELPED MAKE OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE THE BEGINNING MODEL FOR THIS.

  2. Some day these tiny house communities will become common. The housing shortage is enormous, and people have the right to decent affordable housing.
