We’ve been working pretty much 7 days a week on building our DIY camper van in a Ford Transit with a high roof. We’re planning a super functional home and office space in here, and are building it with as many natural materials as possible (cork, hemp, and FSC & formaldehyde-free plywood).
François & Emily are a young Canadian couple who’ve decided they want to live a simple, minimalist lifestyle…and they’re going to do it by living in a van. They say #vanlife will help them live life at their own pace, allow them to do the things they love, and hopefully save money so they can eventually buy land and live in a tiny house.
Yesterday’s story featured a bus conversion. In the YouTube comments I saw that the price of bus insurance was a bit pricey and this got me thinking about lower cost options. I think far more people would be interested in van living if they want to travel cheaply. There’s a wealth of free information on the Internet that explain every aspects of converting vans into tiny mobile housing. Vans are easier to come by and far less conspicuous and expensive than bus and truck conversions.
