“We would like to tell you about our very exciting Earthbag build project in Nepal. We are a New Zealand registered charity providing quality early childhood and school support projects in rural Nepal. Our projects have been so successful that we now want to offer training to as many teachers as possible. Therefore, we are constructing an earthbag building Teacher Training Centre in our project area, 3 hours north of Kathmandu in 2014/15. Fundraising is well under way for the project and we hope to be able to start on schedule.
We are looking for volunteers interested in getting involved in this very special project during the following periods:
• Foundation stage, Nov 2014:
• Construction phase: Feb- March 2015
We require volunteers with the following experience:
• Experienced earthbag builders especially people who have constructed in Asia before
• Keen volunteers with some knowledge of earthbag building
I enclose inform about the project. For more information contact Lauren Palliser by email greatadventures@firststepshimalaya.org
Please pass this email to anyone who might be interested.
Many thanks.”

Numerous earthbag projects have already been built in Nepal. Search our blog for more articles. The schools have turned out really nice! They require minimal building materials, which is important because they’re often ported in over the mountains. Plus, they’re earthquake resistant.
