“Comuna Tola Chica is a community of about 64 families and a total of about 400 people, and is one of the most organized and active comunas in the country, also known as the ‘greenest’ of Ecuador.
Amarelo Superadobe
“Parque da Asa Sul in Brasilia, there is an interesting building superadobe – technique that uses compressed raw land in sacks (Bombina raffia) lined up on one another. In a series of photos, we stroll through the history of the work. The project is the result of a partnership between NGOs Ipoema the Government of the Federal District. In the image above, we see a first step, with walls already raised and the top of the window installation.”
London’s Super Adobe Earth Creature
“London’s Earth Creature is a dome-shaped playscape that was designed and built by eco-build specialists Small Earth and pupils at the Hounslow Heath Infant and Nursery School in just six weeks. The structure, which is made of adobe, was built for the Festival of the World on the South Bank of the River Thames. The playscape is eco-friendly, earthquake resistant and affordable, and it gave the city’s smallest architects an opportunity to learn about one of the world’s best sustainable building materials.”
