“Casa de Lodo is Spanish for “Mud House”. While working full time jobs the past year and a half we built this Dome. The building technique used is called “SuperAdobe”, it’s a form of earthbag architecture.

Another media report about our earthbag project in India. We’ve managed to get in the newspaper or TV every day this week. Channel News7 Tamil said they will produce a half hour show very soon with full coverage of the meeting room that’s under construction. This concept fits perfectly with Anna University’s emphasis on entrepreneurship and sustainable building.
“If you’ve got some time, you can watch the full version of the building of Bryson’s Earthbag Bedroom from start to finish all in one setting.”
As an experienced builder, it’s fun to think of ways to improve productivity. Just imagine all the time and money you’ll save. This blog post explores three realistic earthbag building options: 1x = typical earthbag method; 2x = polypropylene tubes instead of bags; 3x = mechanized hyperadobe (raschel mesh tubes) on curved walls. (Note: An earthbag machine with 4x potential will be tested soon in Nepal, but we’ll save that for a later date.)
