Every once in a while I go back and look through my websites to check on things and look for fresh insights. I was very surprised to see this $300 Earthbag House video has received over 180,000 hits. That’s far above the average 2,000 hits on most of my videos and this got me thinking about why it’s so popular.

Chris’s Scoria Dome in Crestone

“This is Chris who’s building the 24′ reciprocally framed scoria bag dome in Crestone. It has a 12′ gothic arch out the front southside; a vaulted airlock entrance; a 100 square foot cool pantry; and loft. I have a few months into this, 90% solo.

Eternally Solar Earthbag Projects

It’s been a while since we’ve profiled Eternally Solar’s projects from Earthbag Build.com. These are from their gallery page. Eternally Solar has perfected bags that are ideal for sand. No stabilizers needed. Note: slightly higher cost bags are offset by no stabilizers and no labor for mixing.
Earthbag EcoRancho Update
“Our EcoRanchos are well under way to be finished on the exterior and interior (Lime based Plaster). Missing are the stairs (access to the Lofts) and some other details before we proceed with inner finishings and decor. Towards the end of the Video we show also our other two (2) earlier structures (Adobe Staff House and our Majestic Dome). Our Majestic Dome will be completed after the EcoRanchos. A 4th Dome structure and many other Videos can be seen our website.”
