Rebuilding Nepal, One Earthbag at a Time — 1 Comment

  1. Excellent review, thanks. It sounds like a helpful book. However, this was their first earthbag project and that doesn’t make them expert. I would like to see another similar book by experienced builders with all the latest, best ideas included. For instance, almost everyone in Nepal uses earthbag tubes because they’re less expensive, faster, easier and stronger (more overlap between courses). Bond beams and foundations are required!!! Local workers can build the roof. Add strong plaster mesh, etc. In other words, the ideal book would explain the best way to do earthbag building in Nepal. (My Earthbag Building Guide is also helpful, but it’s not specific to Nepal.)
